Alice took this picture of us by the replica of the Liberty Bell at The High Ground, a veteran memorial park near Neilsville, WI. I must say that this park resonates the love and patriotism for this country of ours and for those who both served and made the ultimate sacrifice. There were displays for WWII and Korea, Vietnam that have been erected. It was really hot so we didn't spend much time there but the care and love taken to honor our heroes is top notch. Veterans take turns being the greeters and talking with folks who come. The Liberty Bell here was so awesome! There was a long rope attached to the clapper and we were able to ring it! The sound continued to vibrate in the bell for several minutes! Hats off to the folks of Wisconsin for a job well done!
Now...many of you know and love this good old dog of ours...Duke the Wonderdog! It was Alice Smith who we visited in Wisconsin who first coined the now famous descriptor of our traveling canine! As many of you know he is often right by us...not willing to leave us at all....LOL...except when he arrived here in Wisconsin. He decided that Alice and Jerry's place was just alright! And he didn't bother at all when Steve and I left! It was much cooler inside and he sure enjoyed that part! Here, Alice snaps a picture of our faithful companion...well...mostly faithful! LOL
