Ah...what a beauty!!! All day I kept seeing them zoom by with no chance to stop and take a picture. We found three of them. I'll be out with my camera tomorrow in the morning's light to take some more!
Nancy, i believe the flower pictured here is known as an Indian Paintbrush. In my childhood, we took many camping trips to the mountains and they were one of my favorite flowers. We would pull out the centre part of the flower and at the tip of that part would find a drop or two of sweet nectar that we would suck out!! A wee bit of nature to satisfy our sweet tooths while deprived of store-bought treats!
Steve and Nancy blooming where they have been planted, in Central California foothills. Our hearts continue to long for new vistas, times with dear friends and following the road ahead but for now, we are content with where God has placed us. We are caring for Steve's mom who has Alzheimer's. Come, enjoy life "on the hill."
